Vocational Services

Veterans Chapel CDC's Vocational Counseling Program provides a comprehensive pathway for veterans seeking meaningful employment and personal career development. Rooted in the values of service, purpose, and community, this program equips Veterans with the tools, insight, and confidence needed for their next career transition.

Program Overview

The VCCDC Vocational Counseling Program combines individualized career guidance with practical workforce readiness skills. Through a holistic approach, participants explore personal strengths, clarify vocational goals, and develop strategic plans for long-term career success.

Core Components

- Personality and Aptitude Assessments: Veterans complete validated tools such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), CliftonStrengths, and career aptitude inventories to identify personal values, interests, and skill profiles guiding career direction.

- Career Exploration and Coaching: Certified vocational counselors provide one-on-one sessions to interpret assessment results, identify short- and long-term goals, and align career pathways with veteran skill sets and service experiences.

- Resume and Portfolio Development: Practical workshops and individualized coaching help participants craft targeted resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and professional portfolios tailored to specific industries and employers.

- Interview Preparation: Veterans engage in mock interviews and confidence-building exercises, learning to articulate transferable skills, military experiences, and leadership qualities effectively.

- Employment Resource Partnerships: The program collaborates with regional employers, workforce development agencies, and veteran-friendly organizations to expand job placement opportunities, apprenticeship linkages, and hands-on networking events.

- Transitional Support Services: Participants also receive guidance on continuing education, certification programs, and mentoring to ensure sustained success throughout their civilian career journey.
